Astrograss is one of the northeast's premier bluegrass entertainers for private parties, weddings, corporate functions, and children's events. With our vast repertoire of bluegrass standards, traditional fiddle tunes, and recognizable cover songs done "Astrograss-style," we're sure to keep your feet stompin' for hours on end.

What separates Astrograss from other bluegrass bands is our ability to provide the perfect music to set the right mood for every part of a wedding, from the ceremony itself to the cocktail hour to the dinner and reception. We're your one-stop wedding band! You want to walk down the aisle to your favorite Phish song? You want a Baroque string quartet piece for the recessional? You need 7-10 minutes of klezmer music for the Hora? You're from Kentucky and you want the whole second set of the reception to be all songs about Kentucky? No problem. We are prepared to handle any and all special requests; these are just a few examples of requests we've handled in the past. Astrograss typically learns 8-10 specially requested songs per wedding - more than any other band we know of, bluegrass or otherwise!

Based in Brooklyn, NY, Astrograss is comprised of: Jordan Shapiro (vocals, guitar), Dennis Lichtman (mandolin, vocals), Alan Grubner (fiddle, vocals), and Tim Kiah (bass, vocals). Since its formation in 2002, the band has maintained a busy schedule of public gigs and private events. Astrograss is willing and able to travel for events.
